Highlights from the Wood
So far, only winter scenes are available but some more colourful spring and summer photos will be added soon. There may be sightings of some deer, especially muntjac.

Before trees were planted in 2002
Barton Park Wood in 2002
A 46ha site planted on the edge of Barton-under-Needwood in 2002, Barton Park is highly visible from the B5106 Barton to Yoxall road. It comprises a mix of habitats, with new broadleaved woodland forming the main block while the adjacent land is planted in a parkland style with trees in individual crates to re-create the parkland of Barton Park. Open ground opposite the houses is managed as hay meadow to maintain views. A large pond provides wetland habitat and an avenue of lime trees adds an attractive feature to the (private) house. Bat boxes are positioned in the hedgerow trees.
